 Marcel Borgmann ceo Sea Independent, (Sworn and EMCI certified Yacht&Shipbroker and Valuer) began his sailing career as a child when he received an 8-foot clinker-built yawl.

At the age of eighteen, he established the Bestevaer sailing schools, which grew to include three branches.

After first gaining experience as manager of a major international organisation for yacht brokers, Marcel became the founder and director of Contest Brokerage in 1995 and served as General Director of the Contest Group (yachtbuilders) until 1 September 2010.

As founder and ceo, Marcel has established in 2010 a worldwide network of agents and offices under the auspices of Sea Independent. In 2016 Marcel became chairman of the Hiswa Yachtbrokers Association.

The network of agents and Sea Independent offices is the only one in the world that is certified according to high-minded principles of competence. This guarantees top quality service.
