Marcel Borgmann CEO, (Sworn and EMCI certified Yacht&Shipbroker and Valuer) began his sailing career as a child when he received an 8-foot clinker-built yawl. At the age of eighteen, he established the Bestevaer sailing schools, which grew to include three branches.
After first gaining experience as manager of a major international organisation for yacht brokers, Marcel became the founder and director of Contest Brokerage in 1995 and served as General Director of the Contest Group until 1 September 2010.
As founder and Ceo, Marcel has established in 2010 a worldwide network of agents and offices under the auspices of Sea Independent. In 2016 Marcel became chairman of the Hiswa Yachtbrokers Association.
