Bruce Tedder, a multihull specialist since 1996 is a lifelong sailor, surfer, boating entrepreneur and ocean adventurer whose mission is to share his skill and expertise with his clients developing long term relationships based on trust and integrity. His love for boats and the oceans is the driving passion.
Bruce Tedder runs the Brokerage and Charter company from offices in the V&A Waterfront Marina in Cape Town. They are the Lagoon Catamaran distributor for South Africa and own and operate Day Charter catamarans in the V&A Waterfront.
As a sailor he has over 140,000 miles as a Skipper completing 17 trans-Atlantic voyages including 10 years as a full time professional yacht Captain on yachts from 17m to 45m. He has cruised most of the worlds’ oceans from the Caribbean and Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean and Micronesia. He has also been fortunate to have raced in most of the worlds classic events including four Cape to Rio Races, Fastnet Race, Cowes Week, Antigua Race Weeks, Rolex Swan World Cups, Panerai Classic Yacht regattas to name a few.
As a boating entrepreneur he founded the South African Boatbuilders Export Council (now MIASA) a member of ICOMIA as well as the Cape Town Boatbuilding Initiative. He commissioned the Max Fun 25 design from Maarten Voogd and built the prototype in Cape Town. He was a founding shareholder and director of the first Robben Island Ferry Company after securing the contract in 1997 when the island opened as a tourist attraction. He is also past president of the SA Standup Paddle Board Association (SUPSA)
Bruce has developed a strategic network throughout the Indian Ocean area focussing primarily on Mozambique and Zanzibar, Mauritius and Reunion, Madagascar, Seychelles and the Maldives for the growth potential of the boating and tourism sectors
